Custom Woodworking - Harps

We currently make a 22-string Celtic style lever harp. These are made one at a time, per customer request.
The cost of these harps is $400 plus materials.

Materials include:

  • Wood: I can make them from most any hardwood you want, but be aware that exotics will be more expensive. The most common are cherry, maple, and walnut.

  • Strings/hardware: This includes strings, tuning pins, bridge pins, eyelets, and tuning wrench. I get these from Music Makers, and they are currently about $75 with shipping.

  • Sharping levers: These can range from about $6.00/ea to about $15.00/ea. I use the medium grade (about $12.00/ea) on my harp, but it's up to you.

I do not resale wood or hardware. Whatever it costs me, it costs you. I will happily give you copies of the receipts for all expenses.

To give you an idea of total cost, a harp made from a domestic wood (cherry, for example), would run you around $550-$600, without sharping levers. I shop for wood, and get the best deals I can find, along with the best quality of wood I can get for the harp.
